Go City · Digital pass, Sydney
A digital pass for three attractions out of a list of eight, and Taronga Zoo is one of them. Pick it if you'll do the zoo plus two others on the list within a month, and you'd rather carry one QR code than three tickets.

You choose three from this list: Sydney Tower Eye, the Harbour Experience Cruise, Taronga Zoo Sydney, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, The Rocks Walking Tour, the Australian National Maritime Museum, Madame Tussauds Sydney, and an Australian Art Stories tour at the Art Gallery of NSW. You show the QR code at each one. Each attraction can be used once.
The pass is valid for 30 days from the first time you use it, and must be activated within a year of purchase. That gives you room to spread three visits across a long stay. Some attractions need a reservation in the Go City app first; Go City's reservations page lists them, and Taronga is not on it at the moment. Check the app before you go anyway.
What the pass doesn't do is get you across the harbour. The ferry is not included, so plan for an Opal fare on the public F2 from Circular Quay Wharf 4, about 12 minutes each way. Whether the pass works out cheaper depends on which three you pick. Add up the single tickets for your three before you buy.
The 30 days start the first time you scan in, not on the day you buy.
See whether Taronga needs a reservation on your date, and look up the show times.
Take the public F2 from Circular Quay Wharf 4 and tap on with a card or phone.
Show the pass at the zoo entrance. The keeper talks and both shows are part of the entry.
Fit in your other two picks before the pass runs out.
